"2003 was a heat wave vintage which proved challenging for winemakers. In Bordeaux
the most successful villages were St Estèphe and Pauillac. Les Tourelles de Longueville
has a higher than usual percentage of Merlot and is very forward, exhibiting juicy,
plumy fruit, soft tannins and considerable length on the finish. Second wines of top châteaux
like this have come on in leaps and bounds and represent excellent value as sources of
affordable good Claret.
