Following on from the excellent 4th the fifth hole at Rathsallagh is probably the straightest hole on the course. A fairly straightforward par 4 but made difficult by the narrowing of the fairway and the excellent positioning of the bunker on the left. Also you cannot see the green from the tee.

A good long drive here is essential, you do not want to be in the heavier rough on the right or top left as the grass is both long and leaves you with little chance of a second to the green.

Ideally you will hit past the left bunker and dead straight. Once over the small rise you get an unobstructed view of the green which although narrow and well guarded is fairly easy to reach in two.

The putting surface is, as usual at Rathsallagh, excellent and two well played shots should see you walk off the fifth with a well deserved par 4.

Our Clubhouse overlooks the 9th, 10th and 18th holes and is the perfect location to watch your partners finish their round from. Excellent food and beverages await you in this fine facility upon your return.
